LEROY HOLMES

Leroy Holmes, 67, was born on July 10, 1953, to the late Carrie Bell Holmes Robinson and Eugene "Pa" Thomas. He departed this earthly life on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter.

He was educated in the public schools of Lee County. He was a retired Army veteran with 22 years of services and a police officer. He was caring to his family and loved spending time with friends.

Precious memories will continue to be cherished by his family: three sons, Michael (Brenda) Wilson of Sumter, Altonio/Shell (Lavenia) Holmes of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Terry (Vanessa) Holmes of Columbia; one daughter, Kimberly Holmes of Bishopville; three brothers, Miller (Brenda) Thomas and Robert Thomas of Bishopville and James Robinson of Sumter; three sisters, Mattie (James) Holmes and Minnie (Herbert) Bracey of Bishopville and Cathy Robinson of Sumter; four grandchildren, Aniya Holmes, Miquela Wilson, Te'veon Holmes and Essence Holmes; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Barnettsville Baptist Churchyard Cemetery, 106 Manville-St. Charles Road, Bishopville, with the Rev. Wayne Montgomery, pastor, officiating.

The procession will leave the home at 10:20 a.m.
