Posted

Leroy Thomas Ragins Jr. was born on June 17, 1950, in Sumter, to Mary Ballard Ragins and the late Leroy Thomas Ragins Sr. He received his formal education in the public schools of New York City and Sumter County. Leroy accepted Christ at an early age as his personal savior. He joined and was baptized at New Community Baptist Church in New York City. Upon relocating to South Carolina, he attended Lagree AME Church. He went on to become a member of St. Davis Apostolic Church and Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. His final church home was First Baptist Missionary Church, where he was a faithful member, before his health declined. Leroy was affectionately known as "Big Brother" and "Junior" by his family and friends. Leroy retired from Korn Industries after 30 years of employment. After retirement, he became a security guard for Cooper Tools and Exide.

Our heavenly father called him from labor to reward on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, to join his father, Leroy Ragins Sr.
