I am appealing to you as an advocate for James B. Blassingame as a candidate for the City of Sumter Council Ward 2. I can only tell you what I know about the man James B. Blassingame. Commitment, dedication and service. I cannot think of a better candidate to represent the citizens of Ward 2 than my dad, James B. Blassingame. He has served as pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church for over 36 years, but the man James B. Blassingame has been and is still more than that. He has given of himself to numerous boards within the City of Sumter and has offered assistance to those in need without requiring anything in return.
I can remember while young being a little jealous of how he devoted himself to the youth as a mentor for many within the entire city. His service goes beyond the walls of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. My dad is a humble man, and he will not boast or brag of all of the wonderful things that he has done, but from mentoring at-risk youth, counseling prisoners, mentoring and guiding young pastors in the ministry to just giving of himself to anyone that asks for help, he has risen to the occasion time and time again.
If as a citizen of Ward 2 you want your voice heard, vote James Blassingame. If as a citizen of Ward 2 you want someone to become an advocate for your needs and your concerns, Vote James Blassingame. If as a citizen of Ward 2 you want someone committed to the people, dedicated to the betterment of your Ward 2 and Sumter as a whole, vote James Blassingame. If as a citizen of Ward 2 you want a councilman willing to serve beyond measure, vote James B. Blassingame as your city councilman.
Beginning next week with absentee voting, the citizens of Ward 2 have the opportunity to vote for a new city councilman for Ward 2, or you can vote on Nov. 3 in the general election. While making your choice, vote for someone who will be committed, dedicated and someone who will serve beyond measure for the citizens of Ward 2 and the City of Sumter. Vote for James B. Blassingame as your city councilman for Ward 2.
