Letter: What is familiar, easy isn't always the best

Posted

Simon Says take four steps back.

The new administration is already starting off on the wrong foot. I thought people were voting for "change" - looks like four more years of the Obama era with Biden's cabinet choices. The same old "long haulers," like John Kerry - Really?

What is familiar and easy is not always the best decision.

His choices make me already question his leadership. His cabinet is his second poor decision, the first was his VP choice. Not because Harris is a woman of color but because there are far more qualified and moderate women of color with better track records than her.

I've no doubt that Biden is a humanitarian who would have better served the private sector.

Jimmy Carter is an outstanding humanitarian but certainly was not presidential material. Biden is wrong for the job as he is already demonstrating poor judgment.

I do not see Biden as a leader with fresh ideas in which to lead our nation forward. If he wants to be effective, he will have to become his own man and step out of the shadows and distance himself from Obama and not be swayed by party or politics.

It's like the old saying, "When you keep doing the same thing and are expecting a different outcome." It's looking like business as usual for four more years.
