Lillian "Lil" Taylor Morris was born on Jan. 24, 1928, in the Britton community of Sumter County, to the late Deacon Singleton and Norana Potts Taylor. She departed this earthly life journey to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021.

At an early age, she joined Mulberry Baptist Church. Later, she joined St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. M.G. Walters and, since 2019, under the leadership of the Rev. Calvin K. Hastie Sr. She served as vice president of the pastor's aide ministry and as a member of the missionary ministry and senior choir.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Azalee (Curtis) Richardson and Dorothy Pressley; five brothers, Singleton (Evelena) Taylor III, Edward Taylor, Henry (Roberta) Taylor and Clarence Taylor; and brother-in-law, Nolan Bossard Sr.

She leaves to cherish precious memories: her loving sister, Mildred Bossard of Sumter; brother-in-law, Henry Pressley of Columbia; and a host of other relatives.

Services will be held at noon on Thursday at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center with Pastor Calvin Hastie Sr. officiating. Burial will be at Bradford Cemetery.
