LILLIE AVINS TURNER

Lillie Avins Turner, 82, widow of Marvin "Bubba" Turner, died on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at her home.

Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Eula Turner Avins. Mrs. Turner was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She retired from Gold Kist.

Surviving are a son, Randy Allen Turner of Pinewood; two daughters, Norma Hodge (Shawn Mize) of Manning and Penny Rayleen Shipley (Phillip) of Sumter; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Avins Jr.; and a daughter-in-law, Sherry Turner.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pinewood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Norma Hodge, 326 Brockington St., Manning.
