Lillie Ann McBride-Grinnell, wife of Freddie Lee Grinnell Sr., departed this life on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018.

She was born on Nov. 24, 1955, a daughter of the late Cleveland and Lillie Mae Gibson-McBride. She graduated from Sumter High School in 1974. She was employed by Palmetto Health Tuomey, until she retired after 32 years of service. She was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church and Enon Baptist Church. She later joined Canaan Baptist Church, where she served on the missionary society and the deaconess board, until her passing.

She leaves to cherish precious memories her husband of 43 years, Freddie Grinnell Sr.; two sons, Freddie Lee Grinnell Jr. and Marcus (Jasmine Bolden) Grinnell of Sumter; five grandchildren, Nicholas and Serenity Grinnell of Sumter and Catrell Grinnell, Anthony Oxendine and Ahmadre Darrisaw of Knoxville, Tennessee; former daughter-in-law, Daphne Oxendine of Knoxville; three sisters, Emma Lee Gibson-Williams, Carolina Gibson and Richardean Bradley, all of Sumter; three sisters-in-law, Sarah Grinnell Robinson of Georgia, Annie Mae Grinnell Romeo and Denise Grinnell of Sumter; four brothers-in-law, Grant (Mary) Grinnell, Johnny Lee (Diana) Grinnell, Richard Grinnell and Benedmo Grinnell, all of Sumter; one aunt, Susan (JC) Scott of Sumter; and two uncles, Deacon Louie (Sally) McBride of Sumter and Richard Mcbride of Alcolu.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland McBride and Lillie Mae Gibson-McBride; sister, Martha Mae McBride-Ray; a grandson, Tony Jermeral "TJ" Darrisaw; and brother-in-law Arthur Williams.

Public viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Grinnell will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. on Saturday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., with the Rev. Aaron Vaughn, eulogist, and the Rev. Harry Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Mulberry Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends at the home, 4620 St. Kennedy Road, Sumter, SC 29154.
