Lily Coker Prosser, 69, widow of Benjamin Prosser Sr., died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at her home in Sumter.

Born Feb. 23, 1942, in Manning, she was a daughter of the late Shugar John and Alva Gowdy Coker. She was a homemaker and she was of the Holiness faith.

She is survived by two sons, Benjamin Prosser Jr. and Billy Prosser, both of Sumter; three daughters, Deborah Prosser Nicholson (Jeff) of Kernersville, N.C., Ellen Prosser Wadford (Jimmy) and Lisa Prosser Hyde, both of Sumter; a sister, Margaret Prosser of Russellville; a brother, Shugar John "J.D." Coker (Shirley) of Millbrook, Ala.; nine grandchildren, Shannon Casarez (Jesus), Heather Nicholson, Ben Nicholson, Kady Everhart (Timothy Jr.), Ashley Prosser, Rebekah Prosser, Ben Prosser III, Robert "R.J." Ross Jr. and Brittany Ross; and five great-grandchildren, Dustan Nicholson, Gracie Casarez, Kristofer Nicholson, Barrett Michael Nicholson and Timothy Everhart III.

She was preceded in death by two children, Benjamin David Prosser and Peggy Prosser.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery in Sumter with Pastor Andrew Basham officiating.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 595 Timmerman St., Sumter.
