LISHEAD SWEAT

Graveside services for Lishead Sweat were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery, 4745 U.S. 15 South, Sumter. Pastor Ronnie Smiling officiated.

A public viewing was held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday at the mortuary.

He was born on Feb. 12, 1943, in Manning, to the late Wheeler Sr. and Sarah Whack Sweat.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Levy Sweat; and four sisters, Joyce Busby, Thelma Billups, Jeanette Lesane and Gladys Lemon.

He departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, in Sumter.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a son, Anthony Hilton; a sister, Minister Annette Sweat Robinson; a brother, Deacon Wheeler Sweat Jr.; a special friend, Ruth Alston; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
