MANNING -- Laurence Manning Academy's varsity boys basketball team had three players score in double figures in a 78-38 victory over The King's Academy on Monday at Bubba Davis Gymnasium.

Umar Lawson led the Swampcats, who improved to 2-3 on the season, with 16 points. Deron Medley added 13 and Brandon King had 10. Chase Lee grabbed 11 rebounds and scored six points.

Wilson Hall fell to 1-1 with a 48-45 loss to Carolina Academy on Monday at Nash Student Center.

Evan Hoffman led the Barons, who had a 15-point lead at halftime, with 12 points. Graham VanPatten added nine points, while Miller Jones had eight points, seven rebounds and six steals. Michael Towery added seven points.

Crestwood 62

Lee Central 55

BISHOPVILLE - Amir Carson scored 18 points to lead Crestwood to a 62-55 victory over Lee Central on Monday in its season opener at the LCHS gymnasium.

Justin Rembert and Corean Nelson each added 11 points for the Knights.

MANNING -- Ky Wright and Austin Geddings both had 12 points to lead Laurence Manning Academy to a 48-13 victory over The King's Academy on Monday at Bubba Davis Gymnasium.

James Olden added nine points for LMA, and Kaden Nivens had six.

Wilson Hall lost to Carolina Academy 36-32 in overtime on Monday at Nash Student Center.

Ben Reynolds had 12 points for the Barons, who fell to 1-1.

DALZELL - Caleb Jenkins scored 25 points to lead Bates Middle School to a 78-34 victory over Hillcrest in its season opener on Monday at the HMS gymnasium.

Antione Bracey added 23 points for the Bantams, while Damari Spann had 15. Ja'vion Lammie had six points, 12 assists and six rebounds.

Alice Drive opened its season with a victory over R.E. Davis on Monday at the RED gymnasium.

Jayden Barno led the Hawks with 13 points. Jamie Tedder had 10 points, four rebounds, two steals and two assists.

Andre McBride and Braylon Cox both had five points.
