Nicole Norris Design Studio Inc. and Nicole Norris received three awards for design excellence on April 28 at the American Society of Interior Design Carolinas Spring Conference and Gala in Charlotte.

Norris won first place for a bathroom design and honorable mentions for a kitchen and home design less than 3,500 square feet. Two of the projects were in the Charleston/Mount Pleasant market and one was in Sumter.

Norris opened a satellite office in Mount Pleasant last year and plans for growth with the building and development expansion seen in the Charleston market area.

This is Nicole Norris Design Studio Inc.'s 20th year of being a small business based in South Carolina. She is a graduate of Florida State University with a bachelor of science degree in interior design.

In 1993, she sat for and passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification exam, a two-day national examination that qualifies designers for licensing and registration in 25 states. South Carolina does not have licensing or registration for the interior design profession, though Norris and her peers in South Carolina are working toward that goal.
