LONNIE DAVID WELCH
Lonnie David Welch, 75, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019.
Mr. Welch was born in Turbeville, a son of the late Columbus Lucius Welch and Rosa Bell Morris Welch. He was a member of Bay Branch Free Will Baptist Church and retired after more than 20 years from the Florence Police Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings; and one great-grandchild, Kalib Steven Koelling.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Freeman Welch of Florence; daughters, Elizabeth Marie (Mike) Johnson, Debbie Lynn (George) Smith and Angela Bell (Bruce) Richter; grandchildren, Brandon David Koelling, Becky Renee Brown, Brent Alan Koelling, Austin McKissick Smith and Zachary Patrick Smith; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Bertha Coker, Bobbie Jean Cason and Rosa Lee Driggers.
Memorials may be made to the Florence Police Department, 324 W. Evans St., Florence, SC 29501.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens.
