Funeral services for Louis "Ricky" Eugene Lorick Sr., 62, who entered into rest on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel of Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home with Bert Dew officiating the service.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. today at the home of his daughter, 2620 Foxcroft Circle, Sumter.

Mr. Lorick was born in Sumter, a son of the late Frankie Unger Lorick Sr. and Dorothy Elizabeth Johnson. He was a disabled Navy veteran and served his county honorably. He was a 41-year employee of the United States government. He was an avid bowler who loved his Gamecocks, his Squirrel Nut, but most of all, he loved his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Dew Lorick of Bishopville; son, Louis Lorick Jr. of Bishopville; daughter, Jana (Patrick) Geddings of Sumter; brother, Michael Poggis of Riverton, Wyoming; sisters, Tammy Brown of Glendive, Montana, Krystal Eckley of Riverton and Denise Poggis of Riverton; grandchildren, Jackson Geddings, and another on the way; stepmother, Donna Poggis of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; and beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Frankie Lorick Jr.; and his maternal grandparents, Iverson and Zettie Johnson.
