LOUISE D. KIRKLAND

Louise D. Kirkland, 81, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019, after an extended illness.

She was born on April 18, 1938, in Sumter County, to the late Joseph and Katie Dinkins. She grew up and was educated in Sumter County public schools. Louise was married to her devoted husband, Thomas Kirkland Sr., for 59 years and to this union five children were born. At an early age, Louise accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the pastor's aide, missionary, the YWA and the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Louise was a devoted employee of Sumter School District 2 for 25 years.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Albert Thompson (Patricia), Thomas Jr., Gladys Delores Martin, Dorothy Ann Brooks (Jimmy) and Ruby Maxine Blair, all of Rembert; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; six step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sallie Sanders and Altamae Kirkland of Rembert and Juanita Corners of Bronx, New York; two brothers, Richmond Dinkins and Albert Dinkins; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 5240 Dais Road, Rembert.

Homegoing Celebration will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, 7355 Camden Highway, Rembert, with the Rev. Anthony L. Taylor Sr., pastor, eulogist.

The remains will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

The funeral procession will leave at 1:20 p.m. from the home.

Burial will be at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Churchyard Cemetery.
