A private graveside service for Louise Rose Sessions will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1275 Oswego Highway, Sumter, with Elder Barrington Pierson officiating.

The public may view from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Palmer Memorial Chapel, Sumter.

Louise was born in Sumter County to the late Beatrice Rose and Mose Johnson. She was the widow of Deacon James A. Sessions. Louise transitioned on Monday, June 22, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Louise received her education from the "Mayesville Institute" in Mayesville. She began her Christian journey at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Mayesville. After marriage, she and her husband joined Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Sumter. Louise served faithfully in the capacity of the church secretary and the usher board. She later joined St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church under the leadership of Elder Barrington Pierson, where she attended services until her health declined. She was employed by Pioneer Elkay Industries, Sumter, for 20 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon James A. Sessions; three children, James Lee Sessions, Louise S. Galloway and Diane S. Campbell; two sisters, Clara Edna Kenney and Mosella Johnson; and grandparents, Willie and Lou Rose Fullard and Jim and Maggie Rose.

Survivors include two sons, Willie B. Sessions and Deacon Jose (Lakisha) Sessions of Sumter; two granddaughters of the home, Shaynna and Shayla Sessions; 12 additional grandchildren; sister-in-law, Leola Sessions; daughter-in-law, Vatrice Sessions; son-in-law, the Rev. Robert E. Galloway, all of Sumter; and a host of other relatives.
