Funeral services for Louise V. Miller will be held at noon on Friday at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, 805 S. Harvin St., Sumter, with Marion H. Newton, pastor, and Pastor Letitia Miller officiating.

A public viewing will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Louise was born on Monday, Oct. 21, 1940, in Sumter County, to the late Robert and Sallie Thompson Miller. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Lincoln High School. Louise retired from Wateree Community Actions Head Start after 32 years of service. She really loved children and her favorite hobby was fishing. She always brought laughter to everyone and was mostly the clown of the family. Her favorite color was yellow and her favorite flower was the marigold.

Louise departed this life on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Sumter East Health and Rehab in Sumter.

In addition to her parents, Robert and Sallie Thompson Miller, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Phillips, Barbara Jackson and Geraldine Allen; brothers, Ashby Davis Jr.; Clayton Campbell; and an adopted son, Frank Williams Jr.

She is survived by and leaves to cherish her precious memories: one son, Gregory (Letitia) Miller; granddaughters, Lashawn McGee, Deidre Brown and Denedra Brown; great-grandchildren, Kailan McGee, Kamdyn McGee, Kingston Etheridge, Miles Amos, Khylee-Rae Stevens and Raven Green; two sisters, Aleshia Miller and Wilma Burch; two caregivers, Leola Bryson and Lena McFadden; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 751 N. Main St., Apartment 7, Sumter.
