Manning cancels athletics for next week as school goes virtual amid rising COVID-19 cases

Manning High School is moving to full virtual learning next week. As a result, the school is putting athletics on hold.

The cancellation of athletics will not go into effect until next week, which means the Monarchs are still on pace to travel to Timberland for their football game on Friday.

Starting on Sept. 7, all athletics will be suspended. That includes games and practices. The Monarchs will have to reschedule their Sept. 10 region football game with Marlboro County, but they have open weeks on Oct. 15 and 29th.

Manning hopes to resume activities on Sept. 13 and will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation in the meantime.
