MANNING - United Ministries of Clarendon County will be able to feed more of the county's less fortunate after Farm Bureau Insurance agents in Manning presented the organization with a check for $2,031 on May 5.

Wayne McKenzie, agency manager, presented the check to Kathy Bryce and her team of volunteers. "I am so proud to work for a company that believes in giving back to our communities and helping others," McKenzie said. "It was truly a humbling experience to be a blessing to those in need."

The donation to United Ministries of Clarendon County is part of Farm Bureau Insurance's $300,000 donation to various food banks across South Carolina. Each Farm Bureau Insurance office is selecting a local food bank to assist in its community.

"At South Carolina Farm Bureau, we are committed to serving our rural communities, and I am excited that we are able to support the food banks with this donation," said South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation and South Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company President Harry Ott. "These food banks are a lifeline for so many, and it is important for us to give back to them whenever possible, especially now in these unprecedented times."

In addition to the statewide food donations, Farm Bureau Insurance will also be providing a two-month premium credit to its personal auto insurance customers. The company also said that it is providing other assistance to those who have been impacted by the COVID-19 virus.
