PAXVILLE — A 35-year-old Manning man died Saturday afternoon after succumbing to injuries he sustained in a single-vehicle wreck early that morning.

Freddie White died from head trauma at Prisma Health Richland, where he was flown to from the accident on Paxville Highway, according to Clarendon County Coroner Bucky Mock.

White was driving east on Highway 261 about 2.5 miles east of Paxville about 3:20 a.m. in a 2004 Acura TL when it ran off the roadway to the right, overturning and striking a tree, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Tyler Tidwell.

Tidwell said White, who was the only person in the vehicle, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected.
He was transported to the hospital in Columbia via a medical helicopter and later died from his injuries.
