Manning man killed in road rage incident in Georgia

GREENSBORO, Georgia - A 30-year-old Manning man was shot and killed April 9 in what authorities are calling a road rage incident on Interstate 20 near Greensboro, Georgia.

Joseph Lee Briggs Jr. was driving a tractor trailer westbound on I-20 around 6:45 a.m. when his truck crossed the eastbound lanes of the interstate and ran into the woods.

Deputies with the Greene County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and found that Briggs had been shot. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations was contacted to take over the case.

The GBI said that Briggs died from multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation into the shooting is continuing.
