Manning man killed in single-vehicle wreck

MANNING – A 40-year-old Manning man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck Friday afternoon on S.C. 521 near Manning.

Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell identified the man as Anthony Tyrell Johnson. Blackwell said an autopsy on Johnson has been scheduled for next week at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

According to Cpl. Nick Pye with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Johnson was travelling south of S.C. 521 near Ridge Road when the 2008 Honda sedan he was driving veered off the roadway to the left and struck a tree.

Pye said that the wreck is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
