MARGARET GAINEY KIRVEN
Margaret Gainey Kirven, 91, widow of James Richard Kirven Sr., died on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Born in Hartsville, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy and Amy Hendrix Gainey. Mrs. Kirven retired from Korn Industries. She was the strong, loving matriarch of her family and was always there to listen and share her wisdom and advice.
Surviving are a son, James R. Kirven Jr.; a daughter, Patricia Chavis; four grandchildren, Amy Kirven Meeks (adopted daughter), David W. Beck, Jamie N. Sereg and Meghan Grantham; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Jack Gainey, D.L. Gainey, Robert Gainey, Harvey Gainey Sr., James Gainey and Ervin Gainey; a sister, Shelby Dollard; and a grandchild, George Beck Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. David Richardson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
