MARGARET MILNE BEATTIE MULLIN
Margaret "Peggy" Milne Beattie Mullin, age 85, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at her residence.
Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late James C. Beattie and Alice Welch Denno. Peggy moved to Sumter in 1973 and retired from the Shaw Arts & Crafts Center in 2009, after 19 years of service. She attended church services at the Shaw Air Force Base Chapel and was very involved in numerous chapel activities. Peggy enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Lee Hill of Sumter and Sharon Kay Bishop of Sulpher Springs, Texas; one sister, Donna Dae Benson and her husband, Gerald, of Santa Rosa, California; two grandchildren, Derrick DeRita and his wife, Jamie, and Dustin Broughton; one grandson, Lincoln DeRita; and two nephews, Ron Biaggi of Las Vegas and David Biaggi and his wife, Liz, of Loxahatchee, Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Steven Lin Hill; and a daughter, Tammy Lou Broughton.
A graveside service will take place at noon on Friday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday at Bullock Funeral Home.
