Sonya Maria Jackson, 49, lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, at the home of her sister.

Born on Oct. 1, 1970, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Linda B. Weymouth and the late David C. Driggers. Maria was an EKG technician with Palmetto Health Tuomey, currently Prisma Health Tuomey, prior to her diagnosis.

She is survived by her mother; stepmother, Debbie Driggers; her sister, Carol Nesbitt (Dan); a brother, D.J. Driggers (Anna); her children, Timothy Ryan Driggers (Marie), Justin Keith McQueen and Matthew Anderson Burch Jr.; her grandchildren who were the love of her life, Ayden and Elias McQueen, Wyatt Driggers, Joshua White and Noah Turner; a stepdaughter, Tiffany Ledford (Michael); stepbrothers, Rob Odom (Cherry) and Troy Weymouth; stepsisters, Becky Matthews and Laura Gaines; and step-grandchildren, Noah Ledford, Hailey Harris, Oscar Rojas Jr., Carlos Rojas, Isabella Rojas and Sophia Rojas. Maria is also survived by her precious "mini me," her niece, Lauren Nesbitt and her niece, Avacyn Driggers; nephews, Alex Nesbitt and Caelan Driggers; great-nephew, Preston Nesbitt; great-niece, Julia Nesbitt; and her extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins, whom she loved so very much.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lylah Rose Driggers; a grandson, Sawyer McQueen; her paternal grandparents, Ralph and Clara Driggers of Bennettsville; her maternal grandparents, Carlton and Eloise Brown of Lynchburg; and her stepfather, Ronald Weymouth.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Kevin Cribb and the Rev. Kenny Griffin officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her sister.

As Maria had written her own obituary, the following is a message from her: "I would like to thank everyone who supported me till the end, it meant more than you know. To GG's, keep it going girls! I love awyaw! And a special thank you to my 'sisters from different misters,' Tammy Poole Anderson, Karen Motte and Chrissy G. Kennedy, and to Stacey McLeod Lloyd and Amy 'My Yankee' Coulter, thank you for everything y'all mean the world to me!"
