Marilyn Smith Barnhill, 84, widow of Pat Barnhill, died Friday, July 5, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey.

Born June 4, 1935, in Columbus County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John James Smith and Lollie Virginia Edwards Smith. She was a member of Harmony Church and retired from the Shaw Air Force Base AAFES.

Survivors include a son, Lance Barnhill of Sumter; a daughter, Vanessa Reynolds (Jim) of Dalzell; five grandchildren, Justin Reynolds, Jessica Reynolds, Ryan Barnhill, Whitney Barnhill and Matthew Pierce Berry; two great-grandsons, Jacob Reynolds and Benjamin Reynolds; a brother, Gayle Smith of North Carolina; and one sister, Edith Matthews of Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Dallas Smith, Dewey Smith, J.B. Smith, Russell Smith and J.W. Smith; and four sisters, Dorothy Robertson, Mary Ward, Grace Moser and Linda Tolle.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Harmony Church with the Rev. Drew Choate officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Justin Reynolds, Ryan Barnhill and Matthew Berry, and Steve Robertson, Harry Smith and William Hayes.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at her home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Harmony Church.
