DALZELL — Marion B. "Jim" Benenhaley, 90, widower of Flossie Ann Galbraith Benenhaley, died Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at his home.

Born Nov. 9, 1928, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Esaw and Beulah Hood Benenhaley. He retired from Storys Express. After retirement in 1987, Jim and Flossie moved to Sumter County. He was a very active member of Long Branch Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Bauer of Boothwyn, Pennsylvania; two stepchildren, Raymond Bauer of Oxford, Pennsylvania, and Anna Burns (Morey) of Loudon, Tennessee; a daughter-in-law, Julie Bauer of Apopka, Florida; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by stepchildren, Charles Bauer, Bruce Bauer and Joyce Burns; and siblings, Esaw Benenhaley Jr., John A. Benenhaley, Leona Jackson, Florine Love, Mary Fields, Doris Jordan and Barbara Jean Truesdale.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Long Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Bradshaw officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Benenhaley, John Benenhaley, Steve Buckner, Chris Neskie, Justin Neskie and Paul James Gaffney.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men’s Senior Sunday School Class of Long Branch Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
