MARLENE SMITH MCGEE

Marlene Smith McGee, 72, wife of Larry McGee, died on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.

Born on Nov. 7, 1947, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Sherwood and Ruby Geddings Smith. She was a member of Northside Memorial Baptist Church. She was formerly employed as an x-ray technician at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital and later at Sumter Orthopedics.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years; a daughter, Dawn M. Coker (Dale) of Sumter; three grandchildren, Megan Leviner (Matthew Grubb), Brooke Thompson and Mary Logan Thompson; a great-grandchild, Mattie Grubb; and a sister, Jean Atkinson (Ronnie) of Sumter.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean Smith and Walton Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Northside Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Holley officiating. Burial will be at Sumter Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matt Mattmiller, Mark Christmas, Larry Brewer, Jason Scott, Brent Atkinson and Danny Murrow.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Rogers, Ken Porter Sr. and special nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Northside Memorial Baptist Church and other times at the home.
