What: Sumter school board meeting
When: Monday at 6 p.m.
Where: Sumter School District office, 1345 Wilson Hall Road
The school board selected Martin-Knox as its new superintendent in March, and she assumed her duties July 1. The district operated previously for two years with an interim superintendent, Debbie Hamm, who spent the majority of her career as an administrator in Richland School District 2 in Columbia.
Martin-Knox will provide a superintendent's report, according to the agenda, which a district spokeswoman made available online for the media and general public late last week. She will be discussing her tour of the district's schools this summer and preparations for the upcoming school year, which begins Tuesday, Aug. 20, for students.
Board announcements and committee reports are also agenda items, as well as an executive session behind closed doors.
Monday's meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the district office, 1345 Wilson Hall Road. Like all board-related meetings, the public is invited to attend. Public participation is also on the agenda.
