MARY ALICE WRIGHT

Mary Alice Wright, 71, was born on March 31, 1949, in Sumter, a daughter of the late George Wright Sr. and Katherine Amos-Wright. She passed away on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021.

She was educated in the Sumter County Public Schools. She was employed by Gold Kist / Pilgrim's Pride, Windsor Manor and Sumter County School District, until retirement.

She is survived by two children, Terry (Rashawnda) Wright of Sumter and Pauline Wright (Terrence Robinson) of Charlotte, North Carolina; three brothers, Willie Jean (NaNa) Wright of Sumter, Timmy Wright of Orlando, Florida, and Leroy (Wilma) Wright of Sumter; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Edith W. Spann, Ethel W. Hall, George Wright Jr., Thomas Lee Wright, Jimmy Wright and Freddie Lee Wright.

Graveside services will be held at noon on Saturday at Bradford Cemetery with Dr. Lewis Walker Jr. officiating.

The family is receiving friends at 1901 River Birch Drive, Sumter. Facial masks are required for visitations and services due to COVID-19.
