Mrs. Watkins, widow of Samuel M. Watkins, was born in Blythewood. She was a daughter of the late Mary Nita Stokes and James Neal Stokes. She was a member of Saint Andrew Church of God for more than 60 years. Her duties at church included youth teacher, Sunday school teacher and church treasurer.

She was a devoted mother to her children, grandchildren, and also her great-grandchildren. She was a loving Christian. Her hobbies included yard gardening, her small fish pond, reading her Bible, word search and spoiling her grandchildren. We also include her granddog, Zoie.

A quote from our pastor sums up our mother, "Her faith is now her sight. One of her favorite past times was rocking on her front porch when weather permitted."

She is survived by her sons, Robert (Dana) Watkins of Clanton, Alabama, and Mike (Cheryl) Watkins of Bishopville; daughter, Dianne (Larry) Holloman of Sumter; grandchildren, April (Gabe) Scurry, Stacey (Patty) Brown, Angie (Jason) Gleaton and Ashleigh (Craig) Davis; and great-grandchildren, Chaeley Elyn Scurry, Gage Scurry, Gaten Scurry, Gabrielle Scurry, Allie Gleaton, Logan Gleaton, Kaitlyn Gleaton, Abigail Gleaton, Maci Scurry, Meah Scurry and Maybre Davis.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Jarrett Watkins.
