Mary Lou Jenkins-Green, 88, widow of David V. Green, was born on July 1, 1931, in Lee County, to the late Harry Davis Sr. and Charlotte Jenkins Green. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at Blue Ridge of Sumter Nursing Facility.

Mary started her early education in the public schools of Lee County. She moved to Sumter in the late 1950s, where she continued her education until she received her certification as a home health care nurse. She also worked for JCPenney. Mary joined Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church in the early 1960s was a faithful member. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, where she served faithfully until failing health restricted her activities.

Precious memories will be cherished by her children, William Arthur, Ernie E., Harry L., Willie J., Luscious (Jim), John (Theresa) and Dianetta; 22 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jimmy (Thelma), Albert and David (Alberta); two sisters, Eloise and Elizabeth (Derek); a special nephew, Robert Edwards; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 26 S. Magnolia St., Sumter.

Homegoing celebration will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, 803 S. Harvin St., Sumter, with Senior Pastor Marion H. Newton, eulogist.

The remains will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

The funeral procession will leave at 1:20 p.m. from the home.

Burial will be at Colclough Cemetery, DuBose Siding Road, Sumter.
