MATTHEW R. RIDER SR.

Matthew "Matt" Richard Rider Sr., 31, husband of Megan Hays Rider, died on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, at his home.

Born on Oct. 12, 1987, in Plattsburgh, New York, he was a son of Timothy R. and Laura J. Bunning Rider. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church and was employed by Eaton Corp.

Survivors include his wife; parents of Sumter; two children, Kaiden Rider and Matthew R. Rider Jr.; a sister, Kayla Duncan (Chase) of Ninety-Six; a brother, Jonathan "J.T." Rider (fianc e, Anna Dewey) of New York City, New York; paternal grandparents, Richard and Helen Rider of Englewood, Florida; and maternal grandmother, Alice Bunning of Venice, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard Bunning Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. Aaron Reed and the Rev. Allen Jones officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin McKiever, Keith Oakley, Trevor Jahnke, Michael Richardson, B.J. Hays and Walt Driggers.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Westside Baptist Church and other times at the home of his parents, 3065 Ashlyn Way.
