MATTIE LOU ANDERSON CONYERS

Funeral services for Mattie Lou Anderson Conyers will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Chapel AME Church, 1257 McLeod Road, Paxville, with the Rev. Roberta C. Montgomery, pastor / officiant. Interment will follow at Chapell Memorial Cemetery.

A public viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. today.

Mattie was born on May 5, 1949, in Manning, to the late James Jr. and Annie Mae Pearson Anderson, and she was the wife of the late David Conyers Sr.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Conyers Jr.

Mattie departed this life on Thursday, June 27, 2019, in Columbia.

Mattie leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter-in-law, Tonia D. Conyers; four sisters, Emma Clark, Searline Reese, Mary Lou Singleton and Blondell Powell; brother, Joe (Catherine) Conyers; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; aunt, Lillie Mae Pearson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at the home of her sister, Emma Clark, 450 Geddings Road, Sumter, and the home of her daughter-in-law, Tonia Conyers, 380 Corn St., Sumter.
