McLeod Health Clarendon announces new Community Advisory Board member
MANNING - McLeod Health Clarendon has a new member on its Community Advisory Board.
Elaine Elmore, service manager/vice president of First Citizens Bank in Summerton, has joined the 10-member committee. Elmore is a native of Grovetown, Georgia, who has lived in the Summerton area for 40 years.
"I am excited to be on the hospital's Community Advisory Board," Elmore said Thursday afternoon. "I look forward to serving all the communities in Clarendon County and to aiding the hospital in its future growth."
Elmore has served as a trustee of the Clarendon Health District Board of Directors for 10 years. She is also the first woman to serve as chairperson of the board in its 60-year history. Elmore's tenure on the board came during a time of growth and expansion of the hospital's facilities, including surgical services, the emergency department and medical/surgical patient rooms.
Elmore will join Bank of Clarendon Marketing Assistant Officer Kim Johnson and McLeod Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Catherine Rabon on the Community Advisory Board.
The hospital's 10-member committee also includes Ron Boring, McLeod Health chief operating officer; Fulton Ervin, McLeod Health chief financial officer; Rachel Gainey, McLeod Health Clarendon administrator; Kim Jolly, McLeod Health Clarendon chief nursing officer; and McLeod Health Clarendon Medical Chief of Staff Dr. Robert S. Eagerton, who serve as ex-officio members.
The hospital's Community Advisory Board serves as a bridge between physicians, management and the community and the McLeod Health Board of Trustees. The advisory board reviews strategic issues and challenges that are facing the medical center, the health care industry and the surrounding counties. The advisory board that includes community leaders from a three-county area, including Clarendon, Sumter and Williamsburg counties, offers advice and recommendations to the McLeod Health Clarendon administration.
McLeod Health operates seven hospitals, including McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon, McLeod Darlington, McLeod Dillon, McLeod Loris and McLeod Seacoast (North Myrtle Beach). McLeod also operates Urgent Care Centers in Florence and Darlington and nearly 85 medical practices throughout an 18-county service area.
