McLeod Health Clarendon receives reaccreditation

MANNING - McLeod Health Clarendon has been recognized for meeting or exceeding patient safety standards as set forth by the U.S. Centers of Medicine and Medicaid Services.

MHC was honored on Aug. 9 by the Det Norske Veritas Germanischer Lloyd (DNV GL), a certification body that helps hospitals achieve excellence by improving quality and safety through hospital accreditation processes.

"The DNV GL Healthcare reaccreditation is consistent with our commitment to provide quality health care to the people in our region," said Rachel Gainey, CEO at McLeod Health Clarendon. "We value the reaccreditation process review and collaboration with DNV to help us find opportunities for continued improvements in processes to provide safe, quality care for our patients."

The DNV GL's accreditation program involves annual hospital surveys, instead of surveys held every three years, and encourages hospitals to openly share information across departments and to discover improvements in clinical workflows and safety protocols.

DNV is a global independent certification, assurance and risk management provider that operates in more than 100 countries.
