McLeod Hospice offers training for Clarendon and Sumter volunteers

Persons interested in helping hospice patients and/or assisting hospice support staff in Clarendon and Sumter counties are encouraged to attend Hospice Volunteering 101 being offered by McLeod Hospice.

According to a news release from McLeod Health, volunteers can work directly with patients and families, make deliveries to patients' homes or provide companionship by visiting patients in their homes. Volunteers may choose something as simple as reading a book or provide additional support for the patient's caregiver(s).

The volunteer training program will be held Tuesday, July 27, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Volunteer Services Office at McLeod Health Clarendon.

Attendees must register in advance.
