MHS Monarch Connection Jazz Band rates Excellent

The Manning High School Monarch Connection Jazz Band, under the direction of Jordan D. Jefferson, traveled recently to Newberry College to participate in the South Carolina Band Directors Association Jazz Performance Assessment. The MCJB performed "Manteca" by South Carolina native Dizzy Gillespie, "Summertime" from "Porgy & Bess" by George and Ira Gershwin and Dubose Heyward, and "Fantasy" by Earth, Wind and Fire. The band received an Excellent rating. Christel Hatfield was also recognized as the best soloist.
