MICHAEL ELLIOTT MIMS

BISHOPVILLE - Michael Elliott Mims, 43, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born on Nov. 22, 1974, in Sumter, he was a son of Joseph and Frances Holloman Mims. Mike was an registered nurse at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence and dedicated himself in service to others. He attended Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his parents of Bishopville; three children, Alison Matthew, Bethany Holloman Mims and Joseph McGuire Mims, all of Sumter; a granddaughter, Luana Elizabeth Hernandez; a sister, Allison Lawson (Justin); a niece, Rachel Taylor; and a nephew, Chase Taylor. He was loved by many friends and close relatives.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Edward "Eddie" Mims Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Holley officiating. Burial will be at the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home, 948 Raccoon Road, Bishopville.
