Michael Troy Lewis Jr., the son of Maxine Pearson Jack and Michael K. Lewis Sr, was born on July, 17, 1976, in Manhattan, N.Y. He surrendered this life to our Heavenly Father on Feb. 16, 2012.

Michael attended the public schools of Harlem, N.Y. He was state-certified as an EMT in Sumter. He also atteneded the Church of God of Prophecy where his love for music had him as youth choir director, where he wrote the song "Ain't Nothing Like the Sunshine."

Mike was very passionate about his career as an EMT. He thrived when doing his job because he loved to help and care for others. Mike was also a Mason with the Masonic Catchall Lodge #425 and several years later he became an Eastern Star #315.

Michael leaves to cherish his loving memories a loving and devoted wife, Nyetta Hill-Lewis; his son of the home, Michael T. Lewis; his daughter, Porsha M. Lewis of Charleston; a son, Aiden M. Lewis of Sumter; his mother, Maxine (Gregory) Jack of Manning; his father, Michael K. Lewis Sr. of Greenville; three sisters, Katrina (Roosevelt) Pearson-Webb of Manning, Shakima Shaw and Natashia Shaw of Bronx, N.Y.; one brother, Harry Pearson of New York, N.Y.; his paternal grandmother, Sarah Lewis of Greenville; three aunts, Emma Mae Pearson, Elizabeth (Charles) Pearson, and Delores Hilton of Manning; an uncle, Johnny (Teresa) Pearson of Manning; mother and father-in-law Elizabeth and George Hill of Sumter; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, from 2 until 6 p.m. at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Lewis's body will be placed in the church Monday, Feb. 20 at noon for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy, Sumter, with Pastor David Sims officiating.

Interment will follow in the Church of God by Faith cemetery, Davis Station.

The family will receive friends at the home, 2112 Nettles Rd, Sumter.
