MILES ALFRED ALTMAN

Miles Alfred Altman, 79, husband of Betty Faye Motte Altman, died on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at his home.

Born on March 14, 1941, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Miles Alfred Altman Sr. and Frances Mathis Altman. Mr. Altman retired from Yellow Freight Trucking Co. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He also loved being on the water, shrimping and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years; three daughters, Lorie Wells (Terry), Allison Shields (Hugh) and Missie Mays (Thomas), all of Sumter; five grandchildren, Carrie Steen (Ryan), Amy Watts (Bert), Lacy Poole, Michael Hill (Summer) and Jake Altman; three great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; one brother, Randy Altman of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Altman; and a sister, Nancy Altman Ardis.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Larry Fraser officiating.

The family will be receiving friends at the home.
