CHARLESTON – Manning won the Region VIII-3A football title with a 27-24 victory over Bishop England on Friday at the BE field.
The Monarchs finished 6-3 on the season and 5-0 in region play. The Bishops fell to 6-3 and went 4-1 in the region.
Manning will be at home in the first round of the state playoffs next week.
Robert E. Lee 28
DARLINGTON – Robert E. Lee Academy closed its regular season with a 42-29 loss to Trinity-Byrnes on Friday at the T-B field.
The Cavaliers are 9-2 overall and finished 3-2 and in third place in SCISA Region I-2A. Trinity-Byrnes improved to 9-2 overall and won the region with a 5-0 record.
REL will be on the road next week in the quarterfinals of the state playoffs.
Andrew Jackson 22
Lee Central 6
KERSHAW – Lee Central finished in third place in Region IV-2A after losing to Andrew Jackson High by a final score of 22-6 on Friday at the AJHS field.
The Stallions dropped to 5-4 overall and finished 3-3 in region play. The Volunteers improved to 9-1 and finished 5-1 in the region, good for second.
LCHS will be playing in the state playoffs next week.
Clarendon Hall 42
W.W. King 0
BATESBURG – Clarendon Hall finished its regular season with a 42-0 victory over W.W. King on Friday at the King field.
The Saints improved to 8-1 overall and finished 6-1 in SCISA 8-man Region II, good for second place.
CH will be at home in the quarterfinals of the state playoffs next week.
C.E. Murray 38
Scott’s Branch 12
SUMMERTON – Scott’s Branch High School closed its regular season with a 38-12 loss to C.E. Murray on Friday at Spann Stadium.
Scott’s Branch dropped to 2-8 on the year and finished 1-3 in Region V-1A. CEM improved to 7-2 overall and finished 4-0 in winning the region.
SBHS will be on the road for a first-round game in the state playoffs.
Dillon Christian 26
Thomas Sumter 22
DILLON – Thomas Sumter Academy closed out its season with a 26-22 loss to Dillon Christian School on Friday at the DCS field.
The Generals finished with a 1-10 overall record and 0-5 in Region I-1A. Dillon Christian improved to 4-6 and finished 3-2 in region play.
