Morris College announces Church and Sacred Music Workshop Series

As part of its ongoing efforts to serve the larger community, Morris College announces the offering of a non-credit Personal Enrichment class titled Church and Sacred Music Workshop. This class provides an overview of the history, organization and administration of religious music in the church setting. It will feature a survey of religious choral literature and practice in black, traditional and emerging religious settings. The workshop conductors will be Professors Shawn Hair, Herbert Johnson and Lorne Lee, all members of the Morris College music faculty and accomplished musical performers.

The Church and Sacred Music Workshop sessions will be conducted once per week from Feb. 18 through March 11 in the O.R. Reuben Chapel on the Morris College campus from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Those who complete the workshop series will receive a formal certificate from the college as documentation of their participation.

The fee for these workshops is $75, and interested persons may register online at www.morris.edu or in person at the Morris College Business Office on campus.
