Mozzine W. "Dollie" Montgomery, 92, went home to be with the Lord in the morning of Sunday, May 31, 2020, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, Hartsville.

She was born on Feb. 25, 1928, in the Ashwood area of Lee County, to Hattie Porter and Charlie Wilson Sr. She worked as a domestic worker for many years.

She married Elisha Montgomery, and to that union came nine children.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Ruth Chambers of the home, Joseph Montgomery of Woodrow, Patricia (Melvin) Cabbagestalk of Sumter, Eddie (Gerl) Montgomery, Beverly Brunson, Curtis (Carola) Montgomery, Ruby Montgomery, Eartha Baskins and Elaine Montgomery, all of Bishopville; one sister, Amy Yates of Sumter; one brother-in-law; four sisters-in-law; seven grandchildren she raised in her home; 13 other grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 413 Williamson Road, Bishopville.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a m. Friday at Mechanicsville United Methodist Church Cemetery, 184 Lake Ashwood Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Ernest Frierson, pastor, eulogist.

The procession will leave at 10:20 a.m. from the home.
