New Pee Dee Outdoor Classic will be coming to Florence
FLORENCE - The Carolinas' new premier outdoor expo will debut in March at the Florence Center. The Pee Dee Outdoor Classic will take place on March 8-10 at the newly expanded facility boasting 75,000 square feet of exhibit space. Event coordinators said the Outdoor Classic combines everything outdoor-related from boats and RVs to hunting and fishing to camping and climbing, plus everything in between. Whether for work, hobby or passion, the Pee Dee Outdoor Classic brings all aspects of outdoor life to one location filled with products, services and entertainment for any outdoor enthusiast.
"We're talking everything outdoors, and I mean everything," said Brian Davison, director of sales at the Florence Center. "We'll certainly have plenty of hunting and fishing, but way more items and vendors too like paddle boards, bicycles, mosquito services, golf, and the list goes on," Davison said.
Organizers said a wide variety of products, services and displays will be on hand including camping gear, sporting goods, ATVs, outfitters, guides and services, archery, kayaks, bicycles, recreational vehicles, team sports, hunting, paddle boards, salt water, fresh water, animals, demonstrations and more.
"South Carolina is home to a myriad of outdoor activities, and those of us who live here recognize that these activities help to create the fabric of our amazing Southern lifestyles," Davison said. The event aims to celebrate this heritage at the inaugural Pee Dee Outdoor Classic and perhaps connect a few guests with their more adventurous side too, as noted in the slogan "Your Adventure Begins Here."
A few special attractions will be on display at the Outdoor Classic including a large canine aquatic pool. DockDogs, the world's premier canine aquatics competition, will share the latest tips, tricks and advice from the dock. Attendees can see a live demonstration and training at the DockDogs aquatic pool on site.
Fans of the Pursuit Channel and Trophy Room Adventure TV will get to meet some outdoor TV stars. Guests can meet, chat and get autographs from host Scott Martin and co-host Brandon Murphy of Trophy Room Adventure TV as seen nationwide on the Pursuit Channel.
All ages will enjoy a live Falconry Demonstration with Tyler Wright and see two species of raptor, a Red-tailed Hawk and an American Kestrel. Learn the biology of raptors, history of falconry and the importance that raptors have in our ecosystems. Tyler also hosts a live Snake Show, an educational and exciting look into the world of snakes.
In addition to entertainment, vendors and products, the show will be awarding various gifts and door prizes throughout the expo. Prizes could range from sporting goods to outdoor equipment. A few outdoor trips and excursions will be gifted to some lucky guests as well.
