Nominations open for May's Carolina Grove Teacher of the Month

By earning the most votes from the public of four finalists in The Sumter Item's online contest, Phillips was recognized in the newspaper and online and received a $50 gift card to Carolina Grove, the contest's sponsor.

Nominations are now open for May's Teacher of the Month contest. To nominate your favorite K-12 teacher from a public or private school in Sumter, go to www.theitem.com/teacher.

Four finalists will be chosen by The Sumter Item staff, and the public will vote on a winner to be announced the fourth Wednesday of the month. Nominations are open through March 17, with voting open March 18-24.
