NORMAN P. BUDDIN JR.

Norman P. Buddin Jr., 92, husband of Yvette Carter Buddin, died on Monday, March 30, 2020, at a local nursing facility.

Born on Aug. 25, 1927, in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Norman P. Sr. and the late Baylis Durant Buddin. Mr. Buddin was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he was a past president of the Boyle Bible Class. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He worked with Western Auto for many years. Later, he worked in furniture sales, retiring from Discount Furniture Outlet. Mr. Buddin was a member of American Legion Post 15.

Survivors in addition to his wife of 67 years include two children, Pam Buddin of Sumter and Norman P. "Chip" Buddin III (Lynne) of Wilmington, North Carolina; three grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ashley Buddin.

A private graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Joseph R. James Jr. and the Rev. John McLeod officiating.
