Norwood Brunson Sr., 77, was called to eternal rest on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born on July 29, 1942, he was a son of the late Haskell and Hattie Greg-Brunson. In his youth, he learned how to work with his hands, building homes, masonry, auto mechanics and farming. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and continued thereafter, building relationships with others, lifting spirits of others, always giving his time and talent. In 1962, he courted, and later married, the late Deaconess Dorothy Brunson.

Loving memories will be cherished by his children, Sylvia (George) Maddox of Prattville, Alabama, Rosa (Kenneth) Pack of Gable, Dylena (Frederick) Wells of Mayesville, and James (Clarissa) Brunson, Gloria (Elijah) Jackson and Jazmin (Breana) Brunson, all of Sumter; three stepchildren, Nikki Washington, Linda and Eric Lesane; three sisters, Queenie Bell James, Hattie Nance and Gardenia Benjamin; three brothers, Harry Lee Brunson, Albert Brunson and Robert Brunson; two daughters-in-law, Bessie Brunson and Michelle Brunson; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home of his daughter, 1151 Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Road, Mayesville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the House of God, Keith Dominion, 350 Brent St., Sumter, with the Rev. Pearl McWhite, pastor, and the Rev. Joseph Brunson, pastor of Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church, eulogist.

The remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

The procession will leave at 10:10 a.m. from the home.

Burial will be at Mayesville Cemetery, Mayesville.
