Ohio man killed in one-vehicle wreck on I-95 in Summerton

SUMMERTON – A 60-year-old Ohio man was killed in a one-vehicle wreck on Interstate 95 on Aug. 7.
“Anthony R. Golembiewski of Toledo, Ohio died at the scene,” said Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell. “The cause of death will not be released until after the autopsy that is scheduled for Tuesday morning.”
According to Lance Cpl. Nick Pye of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred at 1:25 p.m. near mile marker 104 on I-95. Pye said the deceased was the only occupant in the 2003 Ford pickup.
“(Golembiewski) was travelling north on I-95, ran off the road left and struck a tree,” Pye added.
The wreck remains under investigation by the SCHP.
