OPINION: Letter writer must be in a make believe world

Posted

This is concerning the letter to the editor on Dec. 4 about Mark Sanford becoming president of the United States.

The writer doesn't realize he is living in a make believe world.

First, our famous former governor lied about hiking on a trail when he was really in Argentina with a lady friend. His wife and four sons were where they were supposed to be, in South Carolina.

Second, is Sanford still running for president? Maybe he tried running for president to impress someone? By the way, what happened with that relationship, does anyone know?

What does "he would be president for all" mean? I hear that often. I don't believe anyone can be a person "for all," especially today. Today, 100 people can read or hear something, 50% will know what it means, the other 50% just make up something in their mind and believe it to be true.

I wish someone would tell why they think our president "is the poorest example of a human being that I can think of." To think it doesn't make it so. What has he done that is so bad? I really would like to know. Surely, you can think of something. You must get your news from the "fake news" channels. It's OK to think what you want, but can you give us an example so we can choose to perhaps change our thinking to your thinking?

The writer goes on to say that he "would expand on my thoughts about Trump, but those thoughts wouldn't be fit for a family newspaper." I encourage you to expand on those thoughts. Get it out in the open. You have already told us who you are, why stop now?
