Opinion: Question your thoughts to know who you are

Posted

I am writing this on Sept. 11, 2019. It has been 18 years since that terrible day in our country's history.

Most Americans, over half, love our country. I have not been depressed since Nov. 9, 2016. That was the day I knew we were getting another president, one who loves our country and the one I voted for.

My pastor recently spoke about evil. He said that evil is never pretty, always lies, always fears and is always threatened by God. Along about the "lies" part, I thought about one of the political parties in our country. The "fears" part convinced me that I was on the right track. The "threatened by God" part I knew was right.

There are so many people that believe in the little "g" god. That little "g" stands for "government." Yes, there are those who believe in the government running every part of our lives. Those who are expecting the Uncle Sam government to take care of them should question their beliefs. That is hard to do. When you are lied to, sometimes from birth, you are comfortable with those lies.

The Bible talks about discernment (perceiving or recognizing something). Is what you believe the truth or a lie? It says, "A discerning man keeps wisdom in view." It also says "don't let anyone deceive you by fine-sounding arguments." That means you should ask for "discernment" when someone is telling you something. Is it the truth, or is it a lie?

Is killing a newborn baby your truth? Is believing that man controls the weather your truth? Is believing that everyone can break our laws your truth? Question your thoughts, and you will know who you really are.

If you are unhappy with America, look into finding another country that will make you happy. If you want people to enter our country illegally, are you willing to take them in and provide for their every need at your expense and responsibility? If not, then why would you want others to do it?

We only have one president at a time. I was unhappy and depressed with the last one. This one makes me happy. God bless America.
